Terms of Sale
These terms apply to books and other items bought from themacleanbrothers.com, operated by The Maclean Brothers Ltd (company number SC680951), registered office Croft 351 Nedd, Drumbeg, Lairg, Assynt, IV27 4NN. We’re VAT registered (VAT no. 465505092); prices shown include VAT at the applicable rate.
Ordering and payment
Orders are placed and paid for through our checkout, which is provided by Framer and processed by Stripe. Placing an order is an offer to buy; we accept it when we confirm it and, for pre-orders, when we take payment at the time of order.
Pre-orders
Where an item is listed as a pre-order, your card is charged at the time you order, and the item ships on or around the date stated on the product page (currently 24 September 2026 for Three Brothers in a Boat). If a dispatch date changes, we’ll email you.
Delivery
UK delivery is a flat £2.99. International shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your address. See our Shipping & Returns page for timings.
Cancellation and returns
Under UK consumer law you can cancel most orders within 14 days of delivery for any reason, and we'll refund you within 14 days of receiving the item back. You're responsible for return postage unless the item is faulty or not as described. Full detail is in our Shipping & Returns page.
Signed copies
Every copy of the Pacific Drop edition is signed by all three of us and carries three drops of Pacific water, applied before sale — it is not made to order for you, so ordinary return rights apply. A copy personalised with a dedication at your request is made specifically for you and, once dispatched, can only be returned if it arrives faulty.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer. Beyond that, our liability to you is limited to the price you paid for the item.
